Meditation lab
I am someone who struggles with daily stress and anxiety, but thanks to our mindfulness exercises, I feel as though I am able to cope with this stress and anxiety in a healthy and manageable way. The ability to simply stop and ground yourself to be aware of the world around you as opposed to your internal world and current mindset, can be very therapeutic for me. My mind often races with different versions of the worse-case scenario, which can make it hard to focus on what I need to do and how I should go about performing tasks. When I am in this heightened state, I struggle with staying focused and on task. This is a condition that I have been dealing with for my whole life, but when I remember to practice mindfulness, and the beneficial techniques that I have learned, I am able to calm myself down and remind myself that it's not the end of the world and instead is a temporary problem that will improve, no matter how long it takes. Being able to notice and recognise when I am in an unhealthy emotional state and taking actions to ensure that I am able to leave that state has been very helpful for me. I have noticed that I benefit the most from meditation and art therapy techniques, allowing me to reshape my mind into that of a healthy and functioning person and understanding that while things might seem bad now, this is only temporary, and I have the power to change my mindset for the better.
